Købstaden & Vartegnet

In 2018 Frederikshavn turned two hundred, and two centuries of the town were told in songs in Historien om Købstaden: the fishing village that needed a bigger harbour, the islands, the quarry, the shipyard, the ferries. A year later Krigen om Vartegnet brought the story back to the tower itself, and to the 1970s, when the town argued for years about Krudttårnet until the 4,500-tonne landmark was moved 270 metres in one piece. Both were played outdoors in the evening, right in front of the tower, with the town's history projected onto its walls.

Frederikshavn 2018 and 2019 · Fonden Tordenskiold · two outdoor theatre concerts in front of Krudttårnet · “Skævt og skråt”, live: Caspar Phillipson, Live Johansson and Merje Kägu
